What does the job involve?
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer you will take full responsibility over the implementation and definition of processes in order to support the strategic and operational goals of the company.
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week.
Core shift - Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:15 and Friday 08:00 to 15:00 with 30-minute break
What will my responsibilities include?’
- Ownership of metal forming & trimming processes, including hot forming, cold forming and conventional/non-conventional machining. Ensuring all supporting documentation (route cards, BOMs, technical documentation) are created and maintained; and; applicable customer/3rd party requirements are met.
- Responsible for day-to-day management of a Manufacturing Engineer, as a direct line manager.
- Managing RCCA activities within the team, with a strong focus on scrap and rework reduction.
- Managing process improvement projects, either as part of RCCA or cost down activities. Projects are to be identified and prioritised using a structured approach, and executed within an agreed timeframe.
- Managing MRB activities within the team, including support in the drafting/approval of concessions, rework schemes and all other documentation associated with operational activities.
- Developing and implementing new or modified processes and manufacturing equipment to enable continuous improvement strategies.
- Addressing manufacturing process issues, whilst maintaining zero-harm culture in the process.
- Implementing technical process changes identified through CRB (Change Review Board)
- Working with and assisting the tooling team with tool definition, manufacture, repair and procurement.
- Managing the technical aspects of capital investment projects for the assigned work area.
- Staying on top of technological advancements.
- Support in the collection of data for estimates, technical and manufacturing proposals.
- Assisting and supporting special process engineers in specific projects, or the implementation of
process changes.
- To provide cover for other engineering disciplines as requested.
What key skills and experience do I need?
- Degree, HND, HNC qualified.
- of 5 years’ experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role, preferably in an Aerospace related environment.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Able to interpret and apply engineering, quality and H&S standards and specifications.
- Demonstrates a pragmatic and structured approach to problem solving.
- Engineering/manufacturing focused with a commercial awareness.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
